Komila Sunejadhar is a well-known name among Indian bakers. She creates beautiful masterpieces which cater to the taste of all people. You can often confuse her cake for a bag, laptop, high heels, books, pizza, french fries or anything else which doesn’t at all look like a cake! She has represented India on various international platforms and received huge appreciation for her amazing work. Not just, Komila is a gifted baker but she is also a model, writer, photographer, public speaker, a loving wife, and mom to two teenage boys. She is a compassionate human being and a great friend. I met Komila through a Facebook group a few years back. Soon we became good friends. I have seen her climbing the ladder of success rapidly in these years. She is the kinda person you cannot forget once you meet her. Here’s more about her journey from a simple home make to a diva baker.
Komila Sunejadhar is born and brought up in Haryana, India. Her father was a soil scientist and mother principal of a school. As a student, Komila was very bright from the beginning. She had a flair for public speaking and used to be part of school plays. She has a bachelors degree in Pharmacy. After finishing college she got married and moved to Agra, the city of Taj. After marriage, she took a correspondence MBA degree. Her hubby had a hotel management degree from a reputed institute of India. So they both decided to open a bakery shop offering designer cakes, cupcakes, pastries, muffins and much more. They named their bakery My Kind Of Place (MKOP). One day, there was an urgent order for a designer cake and the head chef of the bakery was on leave. He hubby encouraged Komila to prepare the designer cake as she was good at sketching. She made the designer cake which was loved by the client! This was the beginning of a highly successful career as a baker for Komila Sunejadhar. She pursued some formal courses in baking and cake art. She self-learned many things in sugar art and excelled in it through her own creativity and passion.
Besides baking beautiful cakes, Komila Sunejadhar loves to write, travel, click photographs, and do some modeling. Recently she participated in Opera Mrs. India Global 2018 and was one of the top 5 finalists. She has been featured in Sugar Magzine- India’s first cake art magazine. She collaborated and won in international cake collaboration 2017 with the theme Incredible India. She presents seminars in reputed hotels of India and often takes classes of aspiring bakers on special occasions like mother’s day, father’s day and many more to give them lessons in baking designer cakes for their loved ones. She loves to make people smile through her unique cakes. She loves to work as a social change maker and has dedicated a facebook page for the same named Humans of Agra.
Komila Sunejadhar always attributes her success to her loving husband who always encourages her to learn new things and reach new heights in her career. Her message to all women who aspire to make their identity in the world is: “Never stop dreaming.
